This year's Urs of Murshid SAM will be held Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 7-10 pm at the Marin Art & Garden Center in Ross, at 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd just west of the College of Marin.

With costs escalating and money tight, the cost to hold the Urs is about $1,500. The event is sponsored by Golden Gate Sufi Circle, a non-profit group with a very limited income stream. None of the presenters or promoters of this event are paid. All the money goes for rent, ice cream, insurance, some flowers and incidental costs.

If you have a business or service, please consider being a business community sponsor to help defray the costs of this year's Urs. With your $50 (or more) donation, we'll put your name as a "business community sponsor" on a large, readable list at an entrance table at the Urs, and you can put out a (reasonable) number of brochures or business cards on the table. I've started the ball rolling with a $101 donation in the name of my real estate finance company, Friedman Financial. With all of us helping, we can easily come up with the needed funds.
